Nissan has released details for the 2012 Nissan Juke Nismo Dark Knight Rises. This Batman-inspired version of the Japanese car will be sold via a website and in order to win the chance to buy it you have to enter a special competition.

The Juke Nismo Dark Knight gets matte black exterior paint like Batman's Tumbler, black 18-inch alloy wheels with red detailing and more features, along with reflective Bat badges on the headrests. It is is based on the Juke Nismo, so it uses a 200 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that works with a six-speed manual and sends the power to the front wheel. This also means that you get a Nismo body kit,

On the inside, the Batman theme continues with Batman badges embroidered in the headrests and embossed on the door sills. The NISMO sport seats have been trimmed with suede giving it a subtle, black theme throughout the vehicle.

Mazda elected to import its Mazda2 to the U.S. only because it had already planned to import the subcompact to Canada.

The MPV is light, at 3550 pounds, and its 174 horsepower 2.4 liter gas direct injection four provides adequate power for freeway traffic like merging. Steering is a bit on the light side, and it's pretty numb, though the MPV feels like it can get around corners pretty well and it's comfortable on smooth proving grounds roads. It's not Buick Verano-quiet, but about average for this size of a tall MPV or crossover. Refinement isn't among the best of Chevrolet's considerably improved lineup, though it's better than most Chevys were a few short years ago

Price range is CDN$21,490 to CDN$31,230, which on October 11 was the equivalent of $20,895 to $30,365, including delivery, covering LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. I tried the popular LT. Canada has its own fuel mileage testing cycle, of course. While the Orlando's numbers look good, they're short of the 25.8 mpg city/38.3 mpg highway (Canada) estimates for a front drive Equinox with the same 2.4 liter engine and six speed automatic. The much larger Traverse is rated the equivalent of 18.3 mpg/28.3 mpg in the Great White North.

Price spans 450,000 - 21,000 baht (some $14,645 to $16,956) but for Thai buyers signing up for the Amaze as their first car, there's a 73,000 baht ($2,375) rebate.

The exterior styling is sleek with distinctive character lines from front to rear, enhanced by a sporty chrome grille and bumpers in the same color as the body. The newly-designed tail lamps are complemented by chrome accents for a sleeker look. Powered by a 1.2 liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, 90-horsepower SOHC i-VTEC engine, the new Brio Amaze offers fuel consumption of 5 liter on every 100 km.

AutocarIndia Editor Hormazd Sorabjee tweets, “Just drove Honda Amaze – its truly amazing! 1.5 diesel incredibly responsive & refined. Rear seat shocking spacious. Honda’s back and how!...” It may be noted that the 1.5 litre Earth Dreams iDTEC diesel engine on duty in the Honda Brio Amaze is closely related to the highly publicized 1.6 litre i-DTEC motor from the car maker. Also, the smaller oil burner was developed along with the bigger sibling. The new motor is Euro 4 compliant.

Honda has refrained from revealing the power figures but we do have come to know that the max. torque output is pegged at 200Nm and the engine is mated to a five speed manual gearbox. This means that the Honda 1.5 iDTEC has only marginally more torque than the 1300cc Fiat Mulitjet that powers many cars in India. The Honda Brio Amaze tips the scales at 1,050kgs.

The Amaze will be available with a petrol engine as well. No prizes for guessing which engine will be propelling it though. Yep, the 1.2 liter i-VTEC with 90PS and 110Nm currently powering the Jazz and the Brio. The engines will initially be mated to a 5-speed manual tranbsmission, with auto options following at a later date. Like the Brio hatchback, the Brio Amaze compact sedan too will be available in auto variant. It will  be the same 5 speed automatic transmission that does duty on the Brio Auto hatchback. As is being reported, the motor has been well tuned and doesn’t really suffers from turbo lag. However, it has also emerged that Honda needs to work a bit on the NVH levels.

Both Schreyer and Gregory Guillaume, Kia's Chief Designer Europe, are candid when discussing the design of the Kia Carens. "A vehicle like the Carens is probably one of the hardest of all to get right because we are very tightly constrained by the car's functionality," says Guillaume. "That packaging versatility cannot in any way be compromised by the design of the car because to do so would eradicate the car's raison d'être." Schreyer and Guillaume's team created subtle styling cues to enhance the Kia Carens' elegant and balanced proportions and deliver an air of sophistication and refinement.

As an example Schreyer singles out the understated chrome strip that runs from the base of the windscreen, along the lower level of windows and curls up to meet the C-pillar. The C-Max doesn't quite say "hybrid" as strongly as the spacey Prius, at least from the outside. It's more in line with the "kinetic design" look of Ford's Focus family than anything else, which is logical, since it's a part of that broad ranging lineup of cars. Inside, the C-Max gets the better of the Prius, though, with a stylish dash and a richer look that fits more high-end options than you'll find in the Prius.

It doesn't quite reach the 50 mpg heights of the Prius lineup, but the 47-mpg EPA rating earned by the 2013 C-Max applies across the board city, highway, and combined, which betters the Prius V wagon. And on the road, the compromise on fuel economy pays off, clearly: the C-Max's performance is plainly better than the Prius, in acceleration and in cornering. With a net 54 hp more than the Prius, the C-Max is less stressed under full acceleration, and while it's still no Focus, the C-Max turns in more crisply and feels more eager to drive than any Prius ever has and that's despite its 3,600 pound curb weight and tall, tall roofline.

The new, sporty look can be seen in each stylistic element of the GranCabrio MC's bodywork.
